Are you a woman who experiences anxiety, constant worry, or a sense that you’re not enough?

When early relationships taught you that love required walking on eggshells, emotional caretaking, or not having your needs fully seen, your nervous system adapts to survive. Over time, this can show up as anxiety, hypervigilance, people-pleasing, difficulty trusting others, or feeling stuck in patterns you can’t seem to change.

For many women, these are trauma responses rooted in chronic stress and relational trauma, and they can overlap with symptoms of PTSD when they persist over time.

You may notice this in your relationships, your body, or your inner dialogue. What once helped you survive can start to feel like anxiety, overwhelm, or disconnection from yourself.

Healing begins when these patterns are met with understanding instead of judgment. In therapy, we gently explore what your nervous system learned and support it in finding new ways of feeling safe, grounded, and connected.

I’m here to help you reconnect with your inner strength, compassion, and sense of self.

Shrinking yourself may have helped you survive, but it isn’t who you truly are. You don’t have to stay there.

Shannon Galvin Counseling

Hey there! I’m Shannon.
Healing is possible and you deserve it.

I work with women who have experienced trauma and are ready to stop shrinking, start trusting themselves again, and build a kinder relationship with their inner world. If you’re used to putting everyone else first while carrying self-doubt, anxiety, trauma, or a harsh inner critic, you’re not alone and there’s nothing wrong with you.

Together, we’ll gently process old hurts, strengthen your sense of safety, and reconnect you with your voice, your boundaries, and the parts of you that have been trying to protect you all along. My approach is intentional, compassionate, and deeply human, with space for honesty, depth, and the occasional moment of lightness along the way.
